Sodium Hypochlorite is highly used for textile finishing for last two centuries. Nowadays, the use of sodium hypochlorite in textile processing is for the preshrinking of wool. Sodium hypochlorite has been superseded by other substances in former uses such as whitening of cotton, stonewashing jeans, and decolouration of dyed textiles.
