The danger of having poor oral health and hygiene in the population has increased, especially in urban settings, thereby resulting in an increase in the prevalence of dental disease. According to the Global Oral Health Status Report (2022) of World Health Organization, three out of every four of the almost 3.5 billion people are impacted by oral illnesses in middle-income countries. Primary tooth decay affects more than 510 million children worldwide, whereas permanent tooth decay is estimated to affect two billion people across the world.
