La dimensione del mercato delle soluzioni per via endovenosa è stata valutata a 14,8 miliardi di dollari nel 2025 e dovrebbe raggiungere i 32,3 miliardi di dollari nel 2035, con una crescita annua composta (CAGR) dell'8,2% dal 2026 al 2035, secondo l'ultimo rapporto pubblicato da Global Market Insights Inc. La malnutrizione a livello mondiale è in aumento, il che sta portando a una maggiore domanda di soluzioni per via endovenosa sia nei mercati emergenti che in quelli sviluppati. Ad esempio, secondo i dati dell'Organizzazione Mondiale della Sanità (OMS), la malnutrizione è stata una delle principali cause di un numero stimato di 148,1 milioni di bambini sotto i 5 anni che presentano un ritardo della crescita. Inoltre, diversi fattori, come l'aumento delle malattie croniche e la scarsità di cibo, accelerano ulteriormente la crescita del mercato.

L'Organizzazione Mondiale della Sanità (OMS) stima inoltre che oltre 3 miliardi di persone nel mondo non possono permettersi un pasto sano, il che non solo aumenta la malnutrizione ma evidenzia anche la necessità di un migliore accesso alla nutrizione. Inoltre, la crescente domanda di soluzioni per via endovenosa nei reparti neonatali e pediatrici è principalmente attribuita a una percentuale elevata di nascite pretermine. Il parto pretermine, che avviene prima delle 37 settimane di gestazione, rimane una sfida globale poiché è associato a morbilità e mortalità.

Secondo l'OMS, nel 2020 c'erano 13,4 milioni di nascite pretermine in tutto il mondo, mentre le complicanze dei parti pretermine sono state la principale causa di morte nei bambini sotto i cinque anni e hanno rappresentato circa 900.000 vite nel 2019. Inoltre, l'incidenza annua relativa è del 4-16% nei diversi paesi. Pertanto, le soluzioni per via endovenosa, come la nutrizione parenterale (NP), sono necessarie per fornire nutrienti essenziali e idratazione ai neonati pretermine, favorendo così l'espansione del settore. Le soluzioni per via endovenosa (EV), o fluidi EV, sono liquidi sterili iniettati nel flusso sanguigno di un paziente tramite una vena. Queste soluzioni vengono utilizzate per mantenere l'idratazione del paziente, somministrare farmaci e fornire i nutrienti necessari ai pazienti che non possono assumerli o mantenere l'equilibrio elettrolitico.

Tendenze del mercato delle soluzioni per via endovenosa

  • I fornitori di assistenza sanitaria preferiscono utilizzare soluzioni EV personalizzate e pre-miscelate. Queste soluzioni eliminano la necessità di preparazione manuale, riducendo così il rischio di contaminazione ed errori di preparazione. Questa tendenza è particolarmente evidente poiché si sta dando sempre più importanza alla precisione e alla sicurezza nella somministrazione delle soluzioni EV.
  • I principali operatori del mercato stanno concentrando i loro sforzi nel fornire soluzioni EV pre-miscelate agli utenti finali per migliorare la loro efficienza operativa complessiva. Ad esempio, Clinimix di Baxter è una nutrizione parenterale pre-miscelata. Con fino a 80 grammi di aminoacidi per litro, è una soluzione nutrizionale pronta all'uso.
