Solar District Heating Industry News
In March 2024, Göteborg Energi partnered with Kamstrup for the FLEXUS project to enhance energy efficiency in the city’s district heating network. This collaboration will introduce an intelligent demand-side management (DSM) solution, allowing for better control and optimization of energy use. The system will help stabilize power peaks, improve flexibility, and enable more efficient heat distribution. This project supports Gothenburg's goal of becoming CO2 neutral by 2030. The advanced solution will also generate energy savings for both Göteborg Energi and its customers.
In September 2024, RWE Renewables launched four new solar projects in the UK, expanding its solar fleet to 11 under construction. These projects will generate 200 MW of clean energy, powering 80,000 homes by 2026. RWE also introduced the UK Solar Developers Charter to prioritize environmental stewardship and community engagement. This aligns with the company’s goal to increase its renewable energy capacity by 2030.
